How Many Endings Are in v0.2?
Sources: itch.io (Garula) · 'Future Updates' devlog notes
As of the current v0.2 build, there is one officially confirmed ending: the Bad Ending, reached by rejecting Pierrot. The developer has stated that several full romance endings are planned — the scripts are still being written and are not yet implemented. So if you are counting "completable endings" right now, the honest answer is one, with more on the way in future updates.
The Bad Ending — How to Trigger It

Spoilers: Bad Ending trigger steps
The Bad Ending is reached by rejecting Pierrot consistently across Day 1. The community-verified path is:
- Decline Pierrot's invitations.
- Refuse to talk to Pierrot.
- Refuse the pink ticket (from the Ticket Taker).
- Choose the "He's crazy" response.
- Refuse to go to the circus.
- Refuse to sit down.
- Refuse to follow Pierrot.
This path leads to an ending with strong violence and control themes, in keeping with the game's yandere-horror framing.
Community-Observed Routes (Not Finished Endings)
Sources: Community playthroughs
Beyond the Bad Ending, players talk about a "Pierrot route" and a "Harlequin route." These are community-observed paths, not official, completed endings:
Pierrot path
Cooperate with Pierrot through Day 1; the path culminates in the window-and-flowers scene at the end of Day 1. The dedicated romance ending is planned, not yet implemented.
Harlequin path
Make warmer choices toward Harlequin to lean into his path. His content is lighter in v0.2 and his romance ending is also planned rather than implemented.
Completion Advice
Because most routes are still in development, the best "completion" strategy right now is simple: keep manual saves before key conversations (especially the Day 1 Pierrot choices), and run multiple passes from those saves rather than restarting. That way you can see the Bad Ending and the current path content, and you'll be ready to branch quickly when the romance endings land.
Common Ending Questions
How many endings does The Freak Circus have?
In the current v0.2 build there is one officially confirmed ending: the Bad Ending, reached by rejecting Pierrot. Several full romance endings (including Pierrot and Harlequin routes) are planned by the developer but are not yet implemented.
How do you get the Bad Ending in The Freak Circus?
On Day 1, reject Pierrot at every step: decline his invitations, refuse to talk to him, refuse the pink ticket, choose “He’s crazy”, refuse to go to the circus, refuse to sit down, and refuse to follow Pierrot. This consistent rejection path leads to the Bad Ending.
Is there a Pierrot or Harlequin ending yet?
Not as finished endings. Community-observed Pierrot and Harlequin paths exist in v0.2, but their dedicated romance endings are planned for future updates and are not implemented in the current build.
Is there a true ending?
There is no labelled “true ending” in v0.2. With only the Bad Ending currently implemented, the romance routes most players think of as “true” endings are still being written.
